Every business is different, and your website should be too. We develop custom web solutions, from simple institutional websites to online stores and custom management systems, always in compliance with Portuguese and European law.
Frequently Asked Questions
It's designing and building your site from scratch: the structure, the look, the navigation and the code behind it. Not just making something pretty - it's deciding what a visitor sees first, how they reach your contact details, and how the whole thing behaves on a phone. It might be a single page, a shop that takes payments, or something built specifically for how your business works.
It's built for small businesses that need to be online properly: a local shop that wants to sell online too, a professional who needs credibility, a company whose old site no longer brings in enquiries. We build brochure sites, online shops taking Multibanco, MB WAY and card payments, landing pages for campaigns, and custom systems when your process doesn't fit a standard website.
A builder gets you a simple page up quickly. The limits show up later: you're stuck with whatever the template allows, and wiring in how your business actually works - bookings, a catalogue, payments - gets difficult or impossible. A custom build costs more up front, but the site does exactly what your business needs and grows with you instead of forcing you to start again in two years.
Three stages. Briefing and quote: we talk through your business, what you need and what you already have, and you get a written proposal. Development and design: we put it together and you sign off stage by stage, so there are no surprises at the end. Launch and support: we take the site live and stay with you afterwards. The proposal you accept forms part of the contract and sets out what was agreed.
It depends on what the site has to do - showing five pages and running a catalogue with payments aren't the same job. That's why the timeline is only set in the proposal, after the briefing, once we know exactly what's being built. That timeline is an estimate, unless we agree a firm date in writing. We'd rather give you a realistic date than promise a week and miss it.
At the briefing: tell us what the site has to do, who it's for, and show us examples you like. Then: access to your domain and hosting if you already have them, plus correct details for invoicing. During the build, sign off each stage. Who handles the words and the images is agreed at the briefing and written into the proposal, so neither of us ends up waiting for the other.
From scratch. We use the same technology professional applications are built with, not a bought template with a fresh coat of paint. In practice: secure, encrypted code written around what you actually need, without a pile of third-party add-ons to keep patched. Need a new feature a year from now? It's always doable - we quote it separately, before we build it.
There's no price list because no two projects are alike - a landing page and an online shop can't cost the same. There are three tiers - Essential, Professional and Advanced - as a starting point. After the briefing you get a written proposal with the scope, the estimated timeline and the price. No VAT is added: we are covered by the VAT exemption under Article 53 of the Portuguese VAT Code. The proposal figure is what you pay and it does not change once accepted.
What's included is exactly what's in the proposal you accept. If you already have a site elsewhere and take one of our hosting plans, migration is included at no cost in ordinary cases, on a best-effort basis: we can't guarantee full compatibility of every application and setting from your old provider. Separate from the project: hosting (from €5.55/month, no VAT added, Article 53 of the Portuguese VAT Code) and your domain, which are services in their own right, and any work outside the agreed scope, which we quote before we do it.
We don't disappear on launch day. Your first 3 months of maintenance are included at no cost: updates, daily backups kept for up to 7 days (they don't replace your own copies), monitoring and small content changes. New features, design changes and content creation sit outside that and are quoted separately. It applies to sites hosted with us - hosting is what gives us the access. Support runs through tickets in your client area, 24/7, with an average response time of 8 hours.
A project is a one-off: it doesn't renew and doesn't tie you to a monthly fee. Payment terms sit in the proposal you accept. If you're a consumer, you have 14 calendar days from the order confirmation email to cancel without giving a reason - email support@raiaweb.pt; we refund within 14 days, at no cost. Ask us in writing to start sooner and then pull out, and you pay only for work done; that right ends only on completion, and only if you acknowledged in writing that you'd lose it.
